We are finally home!!!!!

I am sorry it has taken us so long to update our blog. Since we have gotten home from Alabama, it has been extremely busy. I started back to work this week. It is so hard to leave Christian after waiting for him to come into my life, all I want to do is be with him. I do feel that he is in good hands though. My mom takes care of him on Monday and Tuesday. My sister-in-law (Kari) takes care of him on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday a lady in our ward takes care of him.

I just want to let everyone know that Christian slept through the night for the first time on Friday night. Chris will tell you that he didn't because Christian kept him up until 1:30 but Christian didn't wake up until 9:30. I woke up at 8:30 to see if Christian was still breathing.

Here are some picture of Christian meeting the family.

BBOY

We haven't posted anything the past few days and felt we were shorting our viewers, so we decided to issue our Biggest Blog of the Year(BBOY). These pictures capture moments that occurred over the last few days. We desperately hope to go home this Tuesday, which could be Super Tuesday for us(as the real Super Tuesday wasn't so super, at least in my book). But we will have to wait and see....stay tuned.

No folks, those are tears of joy from Christian, he loves being in his Mama's arms

This looks like a swinging time!!!

Christian climbing in a tree? What has the world come to?

Yesterday, Heather and I went to do laundry at a coin-op laundry place, while we were folding clothes, Heather needed some comfortable place to set Christian down and found that setting him down in a suit case full of clothes works just fine. I thought this was really creative. We didn't have a Camera yesterday so we recreated the scene today as we got ready for church.

What a great father!!!!

Last night I got up to feed Christian and I could hear Chris pounding his chest. I could tell that he thought he had Christian in his arms and was trying to burp him. I thought it was so cute because it didn't just happen once, it happened twice.

Every day Chris loves playing, wrestling, and changing Christian's messy pants. Chris is so concerned that we are not going to not know when Christian is stinky so Chris checks his diaper quiet often. Chris will also ask me if it is time for Christian to have a messy pants.

I really hope I can go home with him this weekend for two reasons. First, I will miss seeing Chris play with Christian. Second, it would help to have some help on the plane to go back home.

Christian gets the Hick-Ups

Tonight Christian got the hick-ups. Although a funny site for us, I suspect the experience irritated and annoyed Christian somewhat. But as you'll see on the video, he didn't get too bent out of shape. This little episode didn't result in any acute, lung-stretching-capacity screaming as was the case with today's bath or diaper changes. So maybe you can consider this fun for the whole family, or maybe I am just a cruel person unfit for fatherhood. Personally, I just think this little guy is cute(a slight bias)!!!

Christian Up Close

Here are some good close up shots of Christian we had fun taking. I suppose it is consolation to the gloomy fact we may be facing a Clinton vs McCain Presidential Race. If our children are the future, what on earth are we doing electing these people?

Today was an easy going day. Nothing happened on the adoption front, or as I like to call it, our legal pregnancy. We did get a chance to watch the press conference where President Thomas S. Monson was announced as the new Prophet and President of the Church. Here is a link to the lds newsroom, which contains the press conference. If you didn't get a chance to see it you should watch it when you get the chance. It was really good.

Going back to last night, Heather and I played Blokus Trigon, which is a variation of blokus using a hexagon shaped board composed of triangles instead of squares. My brother Jared was nice enough to send it to us. Below are pictures of yesterday's game:

Return to Alabama

Heather was really excited for my return, since it has been 3 whole weeks since we've been together. This is a record, by the way, for the greatest period of time being apart during our marriage. I really wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money to come back to Alabama, especially since it might be for only a few days. I am proud to say, however, that I don't regret coming at all. Christian is growing right up but still cute as ever. He even went to church with us today and behaved very well. I hope we can say the same thing in about two and a half years. My mom always said a tired boy was a good boy, and she's right!!! Christian slept through most of the meetings. It's funny though, because other more experienced church goers could probably say they demonstrate a similar practice on a regular basis.

Heather has been in Alabama one month tomorrow. Gabe and Suzette have been the coolest most understanding people regarding letting us stay here. But there was one thing I was puzzled about. The internet. There is wireless internet here, but when I tried to connect when we first came here the connection didn't work even sitting right by the router. I had told Gabe and Suzette that I was interested in computers and hoped to work in the IT industry some day, but felt pretty stupid when I couldn't get the connection to work. Well, tonight I figured out how to solve the problem. If any of you out there want to skip the technical details you can skip down to the pics below. Anyway, I decided that I would check the network settings again. Something made me wonder if perhaps trying a static ip address would work. This didn't really make sense because most soho routers use dhcp these days. But it worked!!!! I was so happy!!!! But not as happy as when I found out yesterday that our adoption was approved by Georgia and now will be approved by Alabama. We are hoping to return home sometime this week. I made arrangements with my work to be gone for the next week if necessary. My manager Thomas was really cool about the situation, and for that I am thankful not everyone would have been so reasonable. And now the star of the show, Christian:
