Heather has been in Alabama one month tomorrow. Gabe and Suzette have been the coolest most understanding people regarding letting us stay here. But there was one thing I was puzzled about. The internet. There is wireless internet here, but when I tried to connect when we first came here the connection didn't work even sitting right by the router. I had told Gabe and Suzette that I was interested in computers and hoped to work in the IT industry some day, but felt pretty stupid when I couldn't get the connection to work. Well, tonight I figured out how to solve the problem. If any of you out there want to skip the technical details you can skip down to the pics below. Anyway, I decided that I would check the network settings again. Something made me wonder if perhaps trying a static ip address would work. This didn't really make sense because most soho routers use dhcp these days. But it worked!!!! I was so happy!!!! But not as happy as when I found out yesterday that our adoption was approved by Georgia and now will be approved by Alabama. We are hoping to return home sometime this week. I made arrangements with my work to be gone for the next week if necessary.
